MGSE for Orion space craft

The aerospace design engineers of engineering firm Pentacon were commissioned by Airbus Defense & Space to develop mechanical ground support equipment for the mounting of solar panels to certain flight hardware. The installation had to ensure, amongst other things, that the pre-assembled panels were lifted from ground level to the mounting level and then horizontally towards the spacecraft. For the mounting operation, one must be able to position the solar panels very accurately without the possibility of causing damage to the Orion spacecraft or the panels themselves. In order to be able to transport the installation, our aerospace design engineers have made a design that enables shipment of the complete installation in a single 20-foot container. The complete installation was also produced for and delivered to Airbus Defense & Space by engineering firm Pentacon.
