Assembly RIG Vega Rocket

The aerospace design engineers of engineering firm Pentacon were responsible for developing a mechanical ground support equipment solution for the connection of two stages of the Vega rocket. It was called the “interstage 1/2”. The challenge with this project was to create a frame that was sufficiently rigid to allow a maximum deviation between the upper and lower half of only a few microns.

Thanks to a complex framework, the assembly template designed by the aerospace design engineers of engineering firm Pentacon has a very high stiffness that, in combination with the specific fine-tuning capabilities, was able to meet the set tolerances. Engineering firm Pentacon was responsible for both the design and the delivery.
